Melodia was founded with a simple, powerful belief: every child deserves the chance to find their voice through music.
Melodia was born in 2021 from a group of college music majors who noticed that many talented young musicians in their community couldn't afford instruments or lessons. What started as weekend tutoring sessions in a church basement has grown into a full-fledged nonprofit serving over 2,400 students across 24 partner schools.
We provide free instrument lessons, mentor matching, and performance opportunities for children ages 6–18 in underserved communities. Our programs are designed to nurture not just musical skill, but confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love of the arts.
Research consistently shows that music education improves academic performance, emotional development, and social skills. Our own data confirms these findings.
Our students show measurable gains in math and reading comprehension within the first year.
Melodia participants are three times more likely to graduate high school compared to peers without arts access.
Nearly all graduates continue playing music either in school ensembles or independently after the program ends.
Your donation gives a child their first instrument, their first stage, and a lifelong passion for music.
